Client:

Slidepresenter

My Role:

Product Designer

Year:

2021-2022

Scope:

UX/UI Design, SaaS Optimization, Design System

Challenges

  • Cognitive Overload – Users struggled with cluttered layouts and a complex interface, leading to frustration.

  • Inefficient Workflows – The process of creating and managing video content lacked structure, making it time-consuming.

  • Inconsistent UI & Design Debt—The absence of a design system led to inconsistent UI components, which affected usability.

  • Scalability Issues – Implementing new features took longer than expected. without a standardized design framework

Goals

  • Improve the user experience by making the platform more intuitive and engaging.

  • Boost platform adoption by enhancing usability and accessibility.

  • Standardize UI components to create a consistent and scalable design system.

  • Streamline content creation workflows to make knowledge sharing more efficient for enterprise users.

My Role

As a UX & Product Designer, I focused on improving usability, optimizing workflows, and initiating a scalable design system in collaboration with another designer. My mission was to enhance accessibility, streamline content creation, and ensure a consistent user experience across the platform.

Research & Ideation

Research & Problem Analysis

To understand user pain points and business needs, I conducted:

  • Heuristic Evaluation – Identified usability bottlenecks in navigation and workflows.

  • User Interviews & Feedback Analysis – Engaged corporate trainers and employees to gather insights.

  • Competitive Analysis – Benchmarked industry-leading learning platforms to identify best practices.

Key findings:

  • Users found it difficult to navigate and locate key features.

  • The content creation process felt overwhelming, leading to decreased engagement.

  • The lack of UI consistency created friction in the user experience.

Concept Development

Armed with research insights, I prioritized:

  • Refining content creation workflows for ease of use.

  • Simplify navigation by restructuring menus and tool access.

  • Initiating a design system to standardize UI elements and ensure scalability.

Design & Implementation

UI Audit & Design System

To create a scalable and consistent user experience, I:

  • Conducted a UI audit to identify inconsistencies and usability gaps.

  • Designed a modular design system with reusable components for efficiency.

  • Optimized typography, spacing, and visual hierarchy for improved readability.

  • Established role-based user flows to ensure that Authors, Managers, and Viewers had access to relevant tools.

Role-Based Access Enhancements

Managing different levels of access was a challenge. I helped design a system that categorized users into six distinct roles:

  • Authors – Full editing and publishing access.

  • User Managers – Oversight over team learning activities.

  • Authorized Viewers – Ability to engage and comment.

  • Restricted Authorized Viewers – Limited engagement permissions.

  • Restricted Unauthorized Viewers – Minimal content access.

  • Unauthorized Viewers – No access.

These updates ensured a secure, tailored experience for every user type, improving usability and compliance across organizations.

Redesigning the Presentation Page

One of the most critical areas of improvement was the presentation page. Key enhancements included:

  • Improved video player for a seamless viewing experience.

  • Enhanced title and metadata section for better information hierarchy.

  • Intuitive navigation system with a back button for accessibility.

  • Commenting system to foster collaboration among users.

  • Security settings improvements for better control over content sharing.

  • Reaction feature to increase engagement with presentations.

Enhancing the Explore Page

The Explore page was restructured to serve as a more effective hub:

  • Introduced filters, 'Saved' section, and improved video templates.

  • Refined label and video hierarchies.

  • Removed pagination and added lazy scroll.

Additional Key Pages

I also redesigned:

  • Manage Presentation: Reduced clutter and surfaced key metadata.

  • Sign Up / Log In: Refreshed flows with cleaner layouts and improved clarity.

  • My Account: Built from scratch for personalized account management.

Testing & Validation

Usability Testing

I conducted usability tests with corporate users and training professionals to validate design improvements. Methods included:

  • A/B testing to compare old and new UI performance.

  • Heatmap analysis to understand interaction patterns.

  • User feedback sessions to gather qualitative insights.

Results & Impact

  • 35% faster content creation due to a more intuitive workflow.

  • 20% increase in platform adoption following UX enhancements.

  • Consistent user experience across all features thanks to the design system.

Outcome

Our design overhaul at SlidePresenter led to a measurable shift in usability, engagement, and visual consistency across the platform. By rethinking outdated navigation, simplifying complex interactions, and introducing scalable UI patterns, we delivered a more intuitive and accessible experience for enterprise users.

Key outcomes included:

  • A 12% increase in product-driven sales, supported by the successful implementation of a modular design system developed in close collaboration with another designer.

  • Significantly improved user satisfaction and engagement, thanks to refined interactions on key pages such as Explore and Presentation View.

  • Streamlined multi-role access management and enhanced content creation workflows, reducing user friction and increasing platform adoption.

These improvements were the result of deep collaboration with cross-functional teams—product owners, engineers, QA, and marketing—demonstrating the power of a united, feedback-driven approach to building impactful enterprise experiences.
